To All Participating Teams:
Please refer to our earlier email dated 4th April 2013 circulated to all affiliates which is now again highlighted due to a serious breech of Regulation.
During the Team Managers briefing of the DBS Marina Regatta 2013 on 6th May 2013, it was made very clear that should any dragon boat team breech or violate this Regulation, the organiser of this Event will have no choice but to bar the team from competing in the DBS Marina Regatta 2013 and with no refund if it’s entry fees had been paid.
The Association was notified by the Public Utilities Board, which is the authority for our inland waters and catchments , of this serious violation on Wednesday 15th May 2013 at 7.20 pm. The dragon boats with the identification of AD1 and AD2 were still training in the Kallang River at the time SDBA was informed. Upon investigation SDBA quickly concluded that these boats belong to the American Dragons.
The Public Utilites Board takes a very serious view of such infrignment as with SDBA which is the parent body for dragon boating in Singapore. A serious breech of Regulation has been committed and SDBA has no choice but to notify the offending teams concerned of a possible penalty.
All participating dragon boat teams, please adhere to this very important Regulation and have a good and serious training session building up to this forthcoming international event.
