The SDBA-AustCham 10KM Dragon Boat Challenge 2015 will take place on Saturday 5th September, from 4pm to 5pm.

Please see the attached map to view the 10km racing route.
All dragon boat teams are required to give clear water to the racing pack.  For other water users, appreciate if you would permit the racing pack to clear your immediate vicinity.
Note that the bulk of the race pack shall pass the various locations at about:-
Pre Start of Race: Boat launching in Kallang River = 3PM to 4PM
a. From Merdeka Bridge (start line) to Water Sports Centre = 4PM to 4:10PM
b. Water Sports Centre to Benjamin Shears Bridge = 4:05PM to 4:15PM
c. Benjamin Shears Bridge to Marina Barrage = 4:10PM to 4:20PM
d. Marina Barrage to Singapore Flyer = 4:15PM to 4:25PM
e. Singapore Flyer to Mar in Bay City Gallery Jetty = 4:20PM to 4:30PM
f. Marina Bay City Gallery Jetty to Merlion = 4:25PM to 4:35PM
g. Merlion to Singapore Flyer = 4:30pm to 4:40PM
h.  Singapore Flyer to Marina Barrage = 4:35PM to 4:45PM
I. Marina Barrage to Benjamin Shears Bridge = 4:40PM to 4:50PM
j. Benjamin Shears Bridge to Water Sports Centre = 4:45PM to 4:55PM
k. Water Sports Centre to Merdeka Bridge = 4:50 PM To 5:15PM
Post Completion of Race: Boat recovery in Kallang Basin = 5pm to 6PM

Introduction:

The SDBA-AustCham 10 KM Dragon Boat Challenge 2015 is a long distance dragon boat race open to all local dragon boat clubs in Singapore whose paddlers are 18 years of age or older. It is hoped that through this event the level of interest in the paddling sport will increase and that participants will appreciate the spectacular waterways that Singapore offers.

Date: Saturday, 5th September 2015
Registration time: 2:30 pm
Racing Time: 4:00 pm (Flagging off)

Organizers:

The Singapore Dragon Boat Association and the Australian Chamber of Commerce will jointly organize the SDBA-AustCham 10 km Dragon Boat Challenge 2015.

Competitors:

It is open to all local dragon boat clubs whose paddlers are 18 years old or older and have dragon boating experiences. All participants must be able to swim at least 50 meters with buoyancy vests. The Organizers shall have the sole discretion to add, modify, replace or cancel all the contents herein at any time as they deem fit.

Categories:

The race will be for the Mixed 18 + 1-crew (maximum 18 paddlers and 1 steersperson).
Mixed Class – Crews must contain a minimum of six (6) Female paddlers.

Prizes:

Medals will be awarded to top 3 positions of the event. The winning team’s name will be engraved on the 10 km Challenge Plaque and they will retain possession of it until the following year when the 10 KM event is again held. The awards ceremony will be held at Kallang River Side Park at 6.00 pm on 5th September 2015, Saturday.
