Technical Level 1

SDBA TECHNICAL LEVEL 1 (DRAGON BOAT)

The Singapore Dragon Boat Association (SDBA) invites participants to apply for the SDBA Technical Level 1 (Dragon Boat).

On successful completion, the SDBA Technical Level 1 (Dragon Boat) certified person will then be permitted to:

  • Coach a dragon boat team for National level competitions, i.e. SDBF, SRR, etc.
  • Coach a dragon boat team for International level competitions, i.e. DBSMR, etc.
  • Lead a trainer or group of trainers to coach a dragon boat team that has multiple crew and/or dragon boats
  • Train a steersperson to helm the dragon boat for the dragon boat team that he/she is coaching

The SDBA Technical Level 1 certified person is required to enroll in the National Registry of Coaches.

The Level 1 Technical Coaching Course (Dragon Boat) course details are as follows:
Course Duration (6 days)
  • Day 1, 2, 3 and 4 from 7.00 pm to 10.00 pm. (Theory/Lecture).
  • Day 5 and 6 from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm. (Practical Session).
Pre-requisites
  • Valid Standard First Aid with CPR and AED Certificate
  • Full Recreational Instructor/Foundation Instructor Certificate
  • Able to swim 50m in light clothing with and without wearing PFD

Please note that this course is only able to accommodate up to a maximum of 18 persons and requires at least 16 persons to be confirmed and it will be on a first come first served basis.

The following are the scheduled dates for the course for the year:

  • 9, 10, 16 and 17 May 2024, 7.00 pm to 10.00 pm (Theory)
  • 18 and 19 May 2024, 9.00 am to 6.00 pm (Practical)
Course Fees : $763.00 (Inclusive of 9% GST)
Venue : Sport Singapore, NSA meeting rooms 1 & 2 (theory)
